AUXILIARY CARD MARATHON

The Card Marathon is an annual event to raise money for YGHCS Hearthstone resident activities.
Anyone interested in Couples/Pairs Bridge, Ladies Bridge, Pitch, and Pinochle should contact Velda
Minderman, (402) 362-6500. We welcome both YGHCS Auxiliary members and non-members to
participate. It’s a fun way to be part of such a worthwhile fundraising effort!

York General Health Care Services Auxiliary Hosts Annual Card Marathon Tea & Awards

Presentation

3rd Annual Auxiliary Tea celebrates with awards and cards.

YORK, NE – June 8, 2010: The York General Health Care Services (YGHCS) Auxiliary wrapped

their

annual Card Marathon fundraiser with the 3rd Annual Card Marathon Tea. The morning

event

was held at

Chances “R” Restaurant and hosted 62 of this year’s marathon players.

Attendees were

treated to

breakfast rolls, tea and coffee, awards ceremony, and a few rounds of

Pitch, Pinochle, and

Bridge.

Each year the YGHCS Auxiliary hosts a 10 month long card marathon of Pitch, Pinochle, and

Bridge

(Ladies and pairs). Proceeds from the event help to fund the Auxiliary’s donation to the

YGHCS

Hearthstone Resident Activities Fund. This year the proceeds will be used for a variety

of events at

the

Hearthstone including a magician and musical performances. The marathon is

open to adult men

and

women, and they do not need to be a member of the Auxiliary, however,

are encouraged to join.

The

deadline to enter the 2010-2011 YGHCS Auxiliary Card Marathon

is July 1st. Interested parties

Since 1957, the YGHCS Auxiliary has been serving the York and surrounding communities

through

volunteer and fundraising efforts to better improve the medical care provided

throughout York

Health Care Services. Annual membership is $15.00 and is open to

women and men. For
